Overview

Stars College is a Candidate School for the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP), Middle Years Programme (MYP), and Diploma Programme (DP). This school is pursuing authorization as an IB World School. IB World Schools share a common philosophy—a commitment to high-quality, challenging, international education—that we believe is important for our students.
This candidacy status applies exclusively to our Abbasiyeh Campus.

Only schools authorized by the IB Organization can offer any of its four academic programmes: the Primary Years Programme (PYP), the Middle Years Programme (MYP), the Diploma Programme (DP), or the Career-related Programme (CP). Candidate status gives no guarantee that authorization will be granted.

The IB Educational Continuum

The IB Programme offers a comprehensive educational pathway that spans from pre-school to the secondary level, ensuring the continuous development of the student’s skills:

Stage: From Nursery to Grade 5.
Focus: The PYP focuses on the development of the child as an inquirer, both in the classroom and in the world outside. Learning takes place through play and transdisciplinary units that connect subjects, ensuring a comprehensive and integrated understanding of concepts

Stage: From Grade 6 to Grade 10.
Focus: The MYP aims to help students develop the knowledge, understanding, attitudes, and skills necessary to meet the challenges of our complex world. The programme is characterized by its focus on interdisciplinary connections, the development of Approaches to Learning (ATL) skills, and the completion of the Personal Project, which fosters independence and responsibility

Stage: Grade 11 and Grade 12 (Secondary Level).
Focus: The DP is a rigorous and intensive academic programme that ideally prepares students for global universities. Students study six subject groups, in addition to three core elements: Theory of Knowledge (TOK), Extended Essay (EE), and Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS).
