🌿 Grade 9 Students Visit Dar Al Salam Home for the Elderly in Saida

As part of their commitment to compassion, service, and community engagement, Grade 9 students at Stars College spent a meaningful day visiting Dar Al Salam Home for the Elderly in Saida. The visit, organized under the school’s Community and Service program and aligned with the values of the International Baccalaureate (IB), aimed to nurture empathy and intergenerational understanding among students.

Upon arrival, the students were warmly welcomed by the residents and staff. They spent time listening to life stories, sharing conversations and offering small gifts they had prepared at school. The atmosphere quickly filled with smiles, music, and heartfelt moments as students and residents connected through kindness and respect.

Teachers emphasized that such activities help students live the IB Learner Profile attributes—being caring, communicators, and reflective individuals—and understand the value of service beyond the classroom.

The school extends gratitude to the Dar Al Salam administration and residents for their warm hospitality and to the students and staff who made this visit possible. Experiences like these reflect Stars College’s ongoing mission to prepare learners who lead with heart and contribute positively to their communities.

“We learned that the elderly have so much wisdom to share, and even a short visit can brighten their day”
